As a self-taught artist, and former Marine Corps CH-46E pilot, Stephen strives to produce paintings which reflect the proud character of Marine Corps and U.S. military aviation. He began exploring this subject matter when he discovered a lack of CH-46 artwork. Starting out with pencil drawings, Stephen now works almost entirely with oils. While much of the subject matter is fairly detailed, more emphasis is placed on the 'feel' of the painting, concentrating on color, contrast, and mood. Stephen is available for commissioned works.
